A senior delegation of Muslim religious leaders participated in an interfaith ceremony at Auschwitz commemorating International Holocaust Remembrance Day on January 23. The delegation visit, headed by the General Secretary of the International Muslim League Mohammed Al-Issa, was accompanied by a number of articles in the Arabic press calling for wide scale recognition of the tragic dimensions of the Holocaust.
Al-Issah stated “The unconscionable crimes to which we bear witness today are truly crimes against humanity. That is to say, a violation of us all, an affront to all of God’s children.”
Overall, 62 Arabs from 28 countries took part in the visit.
